Ichthus (n. Greek/ 'ik-THəs/) is a strange, perhaps unfamiliar, word but a familiar symbol most of us have seen before. The word itself is the Greek word for “fish” but came to stand for “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour,” and drawing its symbol became a wordless declaration: “I am a Christian.”
But why did the followers of Jesus Christ in the early days of Christianity come to hold the belief that He was the long-awaited Saviour? What significant events caused early believers to know, without a doubt, that He is the Son of God?
Take an extensive look into nine extraordinary moments of Jesus’ life and ministry with authors and pastors Sinclair Ferguson and Derek Thomas in this month’s featured resource, Ichthus.
