“I discovered Truth For Life on the radio one year while driving my parents back from their winter stay in Florida. I was hooked after that trip and shared the information on how to listen with many friends and family.” So begins a listener letter we received from Pamela, now a Truthpartner.
Pamela’s aging parents, increasingly isolated due to physical restrictions, soon became avid listeners of the daily program from their home in Buffalo, New York. “I would visit my parents frequently,” she writes, “and we would have wonderful chats about the broadcasts and how God was still teaching them and me. We spent priceless time together as we shared the ways God had either convicted, encouraged, reassured, or comforted us through Alistair’s sermons. My dad shared with me once how he wished he had been bolder in sharing the Gospel and how he had missed opportunities.”
As Pamela’s parents faced gradual physical decline, God continued to work in and through the family. “On one of his last trips in an ambulance,” she explains, “my father shared the Gospel with the paramedic who was caring for him. The man was a Christian, but I thought it was so neat that my dad was so bold and cared enough to share even in the midst of crisis. He passed away shortly after, and we used the celebration of his life as an opportunity to connect others with Truth For Life.”
God continues to use Truth For Life to build up Pamela and her family. “My husband Jim travels frequently and uses the opportunity to listen to Alistair,” she continues, “often calling me and suggesting that I listen to the sermon that he just heard. It is amazing how timely they always are! God has answered my prayers and those of many others to touch lives through Truth For Life.
