Today is the National Day of Prayer in the United States

Ever since 1774, when the Continental Congress asked the thirteen original American colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation, leaders in the US have issued calls for prayer for the country. In 1952, a joint resolution by the United States Congress declared an annual day of prayer, which in 1988 was permanently designated to take place on the first Thursday in May.

Please join Christians across the United States in prayer today, asking the Lord to grant wisdom and discernment to leaders in the US and around the world. Also, as you prepare to pray, may this message by Alistair Begg, drawing from the apostle Paul's imperatives for prayer in the book of Ephesians, give you great help, insight, and instruction.
